UCLan’s new state of the art sports facility will be named after Preston legend Sir Tom Finney.
The building will provide indoor Olympic quality training areas in time for the run up to the London 2012 Olympics.
Sir Tom, 87, who played 433 games during his 14 year career with the Deepdale club, was overjoyed with the news. He said: “I am delighted to have the building named after me and to help put Preston and UCLan on the sporting map.”
