PR1 looks at two forthcoming next-gen games, Little Big Planet and Call of Duty: World at War.

Review – Little Big Planet

Little Big Planet is a truly ground-breaking title which provides the player with all the tools they need to shape and develop the environment however they see fit.
This PS3 exclusive comes into its own online where user-created levels can be sampled by all, which add a virtually limitless lifespan.
LBP is a unique platform game and definitely has a real charm, but only time will reveal its true potential.

Review – Call of Duty: World at War

This new Call of Duty (COD) is developed by Treyarch (COD3), not Infinity Ward (COD4: Modern Warfare), but utilises a modified play engine.
Set during the Second World War, players fight as a US marines against the Japanese Imperial Army in the Pacific and liberate Berlin as part of the Soviet Red Army. Along with new weapons, including a flamethrower, other new additions include vehicles and online/offline co-op, both supporting up to four players.

Anticipation Rating: 70% – Has much to prove to live up to the ‘Game of the Year’.
