The pants were down for a shoplifter last week as Police discovered 19 stolen items stuffed down her trousers – including a pair of knickers with the word ‘POUTY’ on the back.
Tina Yeakey, 32, of Michigan City, Indiana, pulled the stolen goods out of her trousers when Cops were called to a Kmart to investigate reports of a theft.
A loss prevention agent for the Kmart stopped Yeakey and her friend in the car park for suspected shoplifting.
Police officers first tipped out the contents of Yeakey’s handbag and found two dental kits, a bottle of aftershave, a toy car, 12 packs of Ponds facial Strips, a bottle of antifungal cream, two fingernail kits and two bottles of foundation primer.
Yeakey claimed not to have stolen anything else, but confessed to the contents of her trousers when a Cop explained she would be patted down.
After the shoplifter unbuttoned her trousers, police discovered 10 DVDs, a PlayStation game, a pair of white tube socks, a black and red bra, the offending pair of ‘POUTY’ underpants, three pairs of boys’ underwear and two women’s rings.
She also handed over a knife stolen from the supermarket to open the packages inside the shop.
DVDs stolen included “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and “Death Row” – luckily Yeakey was taken to Porter County Jail which has no death row, after being charged with felony theft and misdemeanour conversion.
Yeakey’s friend was not arrested at the scene as Police said they found no stolen items in her possession.
