A revolutionary new internet talent show is aiming to give student bands and performers the chance to hit the big time.

1Click2Fame.com  plans to end the media domination of the likes of X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent and say it’s founders, “change forever the way artists are discovered, promoted and made famous.”

The winner of 1Click2Fame’s on-line talent showcase gets a massive £100,000 top prize and the chance to become the next success story. The contest is open to all without the often humiliating rounds of auditions which have become a signature of the small screen talent shows and it will be solely public votes that decide who makes it to the top.

Categories to enter range from music, comedy, dance and variety to street performance. A would-be-performer can upload a video of their routine from home or from use one of the new booths and set them on the road to stardom. As well as the top prize there are several “surprise” awards to be dished out along the way.

Jonathan Lakin, chief executive of Enrich Social Productions which is behind the project, said: “1Click2Fame is a fresh take on the talent contest.  It is a new online community site and service, aimed at giving those with talent a platform on which to reach both a consumer and professional audience. There are hundreds of talented student acts who never get a chance and wouldn’t risk their street cred on X factor style shows. 1Click2Fame.com gives competitors the chance to build a fanbase through the internet.

“The audition studios, which will be set up in shopping centres will make access to 1Click2Fame as easy as possible. No one will have to stand in the freezing rain waiting to perform.”

1Click2Fame.com allows anyone to play the fame game as either a judge or a competitor. Visitors to the web site view the talent who have downloaded videos and rate or slate the performances. Artists are then given the label famous for the best or infamous for the bizarre and funny and there will be prizes for both.

Julian Hardy, commercial director of Enrich Social Productions, explained: “1Click2Fame has the potential to be the largest talent-search ever and the most fair. This is a place for the people with any type of talent – not just your typical X-factor star.  It costs nothing to upload your video onto our website. People want to see the best and worst so the votes help find the famous and infamous on the site to entertain people

“We are the next stage – the next step on the road to fame, from the local gig scene, the skate parks, and the performance schools. We want this to be a place for everyone from free runners to rappers to comedians to student bands.

The winning act will be chosen in April at a star-studded London final after
being whittled down to first the top 100 and then the top 10 performers, through public
voting.

“We have the contacts and have already lined up internationally known producers who have agreed to offer mentoring sessions to acts appearing on the website and it shows the appeal of 1Click2Fame when Britain’s biggest supermarket becomes involved,” added Hardy.

Hardy explained: “Our winning acts will be shown to the movers and shakers who can take them to the next stage. They will already have a fan base built up from people who have voted for them via the website so they will be a much more attractive proposition for agents and record company executives.”
