UCLan has recently announced that it will be introducing a new BA (Hons) Asian Fashion degree to its prospectus.
The degree, which will be taught on the Burnley campus, comes after wide recognition of the increasing number of rising Asian Fashion designers, and future students can hope to follow in the footsteps of Rita Kumar, David Abraham, Issey Miyake and Tsumiro Chisato all of whom have become successful in the Asian Fashion Market.
UCLan also opened an International Fashion Institute in Hong Kong, which hosted a VIP event with an exhibition showing the work of UCLan fashion graduates.
Students on the new course will be taught skills in research and marketing, and will also have access to the Burnley campus’ new facilities which has received £85m worth of investment, in aid of the facility.
Head of the School of Creative and Performing Arts’, Glenda Brindle, said: “In the forty years that the University has been running fashion programmes, styles have undoubtedly changed but the extraordinary levels of passion, enthusiasm and talent exhibited by our students, graduates and staff have always remained constant.”
“The University’s fashion courses have built a worldwide reputation because of the quality educational experience that we provide,” she added.
UCLan’s fashion degree courses are already considered to be one out of the three institutions with the most reputable Fashion programs in the country. UCLan also has a long standing relationship in China and Hong Kong, providing over 50 courses to 3,500 students outside of the UK.
UCLan will be hosting an open day for the Burnley Campus this Thursday from 5pm to 8pm, and will feature open talks about the courses available, including information on Manufacturing, Law, Business Studies and Engineering.
